AMC is an American basic cable television channel the first launched in 1984, and is the namesake flagship property of AMC Networks. The channel's name is an acronym for its original full title, American Movie Classics. Since 2002, the full name has been de-emphasized as a result of a major shift in its programming.[1]

In March 2019, it was reported that a new series set in the Orphan Black universe was in early development stages at AMC, to be produced by Temple Street Productions.[2]By April 2022, the series was greenlit and titled Orphan Black: Echoes.[3]It premiered on June 23, 2024, on AMC, AMC+ and BBC America simultaneously.[4]
